Burnie Print Prize 2025
The Burnie Print Prize is a national biennial prize organised by Burnie Regional Gallery. This year, it is held in conjunction with Ten Days on the Island festival. I was thrilled to be selected as a finalist with my piece “Summit Walk 3, Rock Hopping”. The show opened on 14th March and will run until 14th May. It is well worth a visit, with many of Australia’s well-known printmakers included in the line-up. The winners of the main prizes have been announced. Overall winner - Lois Waters “Pleat 4”, Emerging Artist Winner - Alethea Richter “Filtered Light 2”, Highly Commended - Michael Schlitz “the short weight”. You can still vote for the people’s choice award. If you’re unable to get to Burnie for the show, the excellent catalogue is online here. The Burnie Regional Gallery is undergoing renovations so this year, the show is held in the Bridge Gallery, across the road for the Arts Center. Check Burnie Regional Arts website for opening hours.
