Kunanyi Waratah
This hand painted linocut was inspired by a November walk on one of my favourite kunanyi trails, the Organ-pipes Track. Tasmanian waratahs grow in the understory of the slopes of the mountain and these bloom in late spring and early summer high above the city on the fringes of the alpine landscape at the summit. In the foreground, dappled sunlight filters though the canopy onto the blooming waratahs and the forest floor.
This linocut measures approximately 30cm (12") wide by 40cm (18") high, not including signature. The paper is larger still, as pictured. Each print is numbered and signed with this being a small edition of 15. I print using oil-based relief printing ink on Stonehenge paper. Each linocut is then individually hand painted with watercolour.
This unframed linocut will be shipped securely in a mailing cylinder.
