Twisted exposed branches and tangled roots, reaching across the rocky surface of the alpine landscape at the summit of kunanyi/Mt Wellington were the inspiration for this linocut. The few tiny leaves are wearing their rich winter colours. The last rays of winter afternoon light find the tips of the plant.

I hand carve lino, and print with oil based printing ink onto Stonehenge paper. Colour is added with watercolour, each piece individually hand painted.

The image size measures 30cm high (12") x 20 cm wide (approx 8 1/4") with the paper larger as shown. Each artwork is signed and numbered with the edition limited to 10. This piece is shipped flat, wrapped in cello and mounted on foam core.
