Looking Up is a large vertical linocut created with 2 linoblocks. It shows a section of Mt Field as viewed from Lake Dobson in the Mt Field National Park in southern Tasmania. ‘Looking Up’ explores ideas of the mountain top as a goal to attain, and the mixed emotions that can sometimes cause, especially when the terrain is difficult.
This linocut is printed on oversized paper to allow for the extra height. I have printed only a small edition of 10 prints. Each is hand coloured individually. The image size (excluding signature and title) is approximately 29cm w x 78cm h with paper size approximately 35cm w x 88cm h.
This linocut was shortlisted for the Bay of Fires Art Prize 2023.
