Moorland Tangle 1
Moorland Tangle 1 is the first panel of a planned triptych which is a meditation on the alpine moorland in the Mt Field National Park in Tasmania. On my first visit to Lake Dobson, I stopped at the Wombat Moor and was blown away by the colour and variation of plants thriving in that inhospitable environment. Many of the plants are from the Proteaceae family which feels familiar to me, having been a Protea and Native Flower farmer in the past. In this piece I have tried to capture the colours and textures that struck me the first time I saw them.
This piece will be the centre panel of a larger planned piece with 3 panels.
This linocut measures approximately 30cm (12") wide by 40cm (18") high, not including signature. The paper is larger still, as pictured. Each print is numbered and signed with this being a small edition of 10. I print using oil-based relief printing ink on Stonehenge paper. Each linocut is then individually hand painted with watercolour.
This unframed linocut will be shipped securely in a mailing cylinder.
