In "Open Gate" the morning sunlight has burst over the hill behind and illuminated the landscape with vibrant colour. I love the shapes in the huge old eucalyptus tree and the shadows cast in the early morning light. The open gate seems to be a metaphor for a new day and new possibilities.

I hand carve the lino and print with oil based ink onto Stonehenge printmakers paper. I hand paint each print individually with watercolour. The prints are numbered with the edition limited to 20. The print itself is 30cm x 30cm (12" x 12") and the paper is larger as pictured. The paper has a deckled/torn edge.
