Beach Shack
This original linocut print design depicts a weatherboard beach shack at a remote beach on the Tasman Peninsula in Southern Tasmania. It is high summer and the grasses are swaying and bleached by the sun. I love the dappled light on the tree trunk of the iconic Australian gum tree. The 1950's weatherboard shack is an iconic image of sleepy beachside Australian towns. I love the unpretentious character of these beach "shacks".
I hand carve the lino, and print with oil based printing ink onto Stonehenge paper. Each linoprint is individually painted with watercolour.
The image size measures 20cm high x 40 cm wide with the paper larger as shown. Each artwork is signed and numbered with the edition limited to 20. This piece is shipped flat, wrapped in cello and mounted on foam core.
