Dusk, Highcroft
"Dusk, Highcroft" began as a commission by a friend to capture the view from her house. The beautiful sloping hills just hide the setting sun but the wooded mountain still reflects the colours of the sky. It's winter and the night time chill is creeping in. I even managed to fit in a couple of the geese heading down towards the dam. This piece won first prize at our little local art show the year I produced it.
I hand carve the lino and print with oil based printing ink onto Stonehenge printmakers paper. I hand colour each print individually with watercolour. The prints are numbered with the edition limited to 20. The print itself is 20cm x 46cm ( approx 8" x 18") and the paper is larger as pictured. The paper has a deckled/torn edge.
