Grounded, Spring Thaw
‘Grounded, Spring Thaw’ is the first of a series of alpine landscapes zooming in on the details that we often miss beneath our feet. On the whole, our visits to mountain tops are about the view we see when we get there. In Spring Thaw, I focus in on the details of the October snow nestled around the native vegetation, with the rocks catching some warm spring sun, reminding us that our mountain-top experiences can give us more than just a view.
This hand painted linocut measures approximately 30cm (12") wide by 40cm (18") high, not including signature. The paper is larger still, as pictured. Each print is numbered and signed, with this being an edition of 20. I print using oil-based printing ink on Stonehenge printmakers paper. Each linocut is then individually hand painted with watercolour.
This unframed linocut will be shipped securely in a mailing cylinder.
