Alpine Summer, Yellow Bush
The Yellow Bush is an Australian alpine plant that grows in the harsh environment at the summit of kunanyi/Mt Wellington in Tasmania. The sharp needle-like leaves can make a bright statement across the landscape at certain times of the year. In the summer, it bears small white flowers. It isn’t a well-known or highly prized plant, but for me its such an important element in how I see the summit landscape and I wanted to honour that with this linocut.
This hand painted linocut measures approximately 30cm (12") wide by 40cm (18") high, not including signature. The paper is larger still, as pictured. Each print is numbered and signed, with this being an edition of 10. I print using oil-based printing ink on Stonehenge printmakers paper. Each linocut is then individually hand painted with watercolour.
This unframed linocut will be shipped securely in a mailing cylinder.
