"Alpine Winter, Pineapple Grass” is a hand painted linocut inspired by the observation of smaller details in the alpine landscape during winter visits. The vegetation of Tasmanian alpine areas is an ongoing fascination for me. I love the way they change their colours and textures through the seasons, responding to the harsh environmental elements. I enjoy playing with the compositional aspects of the placement of the plants, and the rich colouring, translating these into a linocut that seeks to convey the unique sense of place. In this piece, remnant from snow fall is nestled around the rocks, allowing us to see more clearly the colours and shapes of the plants.

This linocut measures approximately 30cm (12") wide by 40cm (18") high, not including signature. The paper is larger still, as pictured. Each print is numbered and signed with this being a small edition of 20. I print using oil-based printing ink on Stonehenge printmakers paper. Each linocut is then individually hand painted with watercolour.

This unframed linocut will be shipped securely in a mailing cylinder.
