‘Summit 14’ continues my series of kunanyi/Mt Wellington inspired linocuts. In Summit 14, I have explored the late afternoon summer sunlight and the colours it creates as it falls across the summit landscape. I love the contrast of the subtle and colourful watercolour, with the stark and solid linocut print. Together they embody both the strength and fragility of the alpine landscape.
This linocut measures approximately 30cm (12") wide by 40cm (18") high, not including signature. The paper is larger still, as pictured. Each print is numbered and signed with this being a small edition of 25. I print using oil-based relief printing ink on Stonehenge paper. Each linocut is then individually hand painted with watercolour.
This unframed linocut will be shipped securely in a mailing cylinder.
