"Summit 8, Winter Light” is another in my current series of linocuts exploring the alpine landscape at the summit of kunanyi / Mount Wellington. Kunanyi dominates the landscape of Hobart Tasmania, my hometown. The alpine landscape at the top of the mountain captivates me, with its rarified atmosphere and unforgiving weather. In “Summit 8” the remaining snow is nestled between the rocks, and the incredible diversity of plant life creates a harmony that defies the conditions, beautiful in its tenacity. I love the winter light low on the horizon, making the colours sing.

This large linocut measures approximately 30cm (12") wide by 50cm (20") high, not including signature. The paper is larger still, as pictured. Each print is numbered and signed with this being an edition of 25. I print using oil-based printing ink on Stonehenge printmakers paper. Each linocut is then individually hand painted with watercolour.

This unframed linocut will be shipped securely in a mailing cylinder.
